Great place to develop your career

Pros

Drillinginfo offers flexible schedules, generous paid time off, and time and resources for developing new skills. If your goal is to work for a company where you can develop your professional skills to advance your career, drillinginfo is the place to work.

Cons

The pay for entry level positions (at least in my case) is lower than average, but they make up for it in career advancement opportunities, company sponsored outings/events/parties, and the chance to work with highly intelligent and fun people. In other positions the pay is definitely competitive.

The International Business in Fire Engulfed Tail Spin

Pros

Unique product range with high value

Cons

International management has no clue on running anything outside the US and it shows. Their business model unfortunately does not move from Texas to Europe and they are still confused why not. They change direction like the wind but when I left the profits had dropped significantly and the customer base was falling away. So what do they do ...... remove their sales force and employ others on the off chance it may be them that's the problem.... .

This is an unprecedented time in Drillinginfo’s international business and an incredible opportunity for those who are up to the challenge. The business has made significant investment in our international operations by putting local leadership and structure in place to drive results and added recent hires to set us up for future growth. With that said, we understand and appreciate that change can be uncomfortable for some and our culture may not be a fit for everyone. However, Drillinginfo is a very positive environment for prospective employees who thrive on challenge and want to be a part of a growth company. Our plans for international growth will continue to include employee and customer feedback and perspective and there is only blue sky ahead.

Rough work environment

Pros

Good office benefits. Easy to work from home

Cons

Co-workers get into groups excluding work from you. When one person is always going to sacrifice their work/life balance then everyone is going to use that person. Unless you are willing to do this, this company is not for you.

I wish I understood this feedback so that I could respond appropriately but it just doesn't make any sense. You are saying that those who assert themselves by demonstrating high engagement get the plumb assignments? How is that bad? Work life balance is unique to each person and not a one size fits all. So I wouldn't make an assumption that someone is sacrificing work life balance unless that person was making the claim not this reviewer. We actually want employees to enjoy what they do and to be highly engaged. But there has never been a mandate on how that manifests itself.
