Pros

Hard working hourly employees and suppliers are professional.

Cons

Senior leadership are tyrannical, and put on a good show for sagreholders, but if they dug deeper, they'd see the regulatory debacle that awaits with Sarbanes/Oxley

Pros

The corporate office is metro accessible and some of the people are nice. There are a lot of good lunch options near the office. The best things about it are related to its location.

Cons

Management makes it fairly clear they do not care about its employees, nor do they really know what they are doing. Turnover rate is really high. They seem to have made the choice that it’s better for them to fire and hire someone new than to adequate train or try and retain people. I was told in the interview I would travel 10% of the time and it was more like 80%. It really is a culture of us vs them with management and management does seem to have a coherence plan of action. If they do, it places very little value on individual employees. The first time I got any inclination there any sort of problem with my performance was in my 3 month review with HR present. Never once had I been told to do anything different or a would have and issues where brought that happened in my first week on the job. Never once did anyone bring it up be me directly, they waited almost 3 months for the review. I am more than willing to take criticism and want to correct any mistakes I might make but without any feedback until HR is involved is really unfair. I was not the only one this happened to, it’s a pattern.

Pros

I can’t name any pros for Enviva other than saying that they are making money and growing at the moment but the moment they start having competition in the wood pellet industry, the company is going to collapse or face extreme financial difficulties unless they start making serious changes, starting with firing the whole executive team (CEO, et all) and the two top layers of senior leadership below the executive team since they are the main source of Enviva’s problems.

Cons

- worst company culture I have ever witnessed - a culture of name calling on daily basis. some that I have personally witnessed, include: stupid, idiot, moron and much worse profanities that I cannot include here due to Glassdoor’s policy. You have to understand that I didn’t witness these disrespectful comments in a construction site, NO! These words were used in extremely Formal meetings with the CEO, COO, CFO, SVPs, VPs, directors and other senior leadership team of the company. - A culture of belittling employees by senior management - A culture of constant blaming the employees and finger pointing by senior management - In this company the senior management calls “name calling, disrespecting, blaming, belittling and - extremely Incompetent executive and senior leadership - absolutely no work/life balance - absolutely no respect for employees personal goals and interests - I can name many more cons, but I think I have made my point with the above …
