Pros

- Great healthcare benefits - It’s cool to say you work at Epic

Cons

- Clear homophobia, sexism, and racism that starts at the top and leads to fear and illness. - Epic leads through fear. Their C-suite leadership continues to operate this way. - The only place I’ve ever worked where I felt I was a number, not a person. I’ve worked at most top tech companies. - You literally have to pay for swag. - No development or growth opportunities if you’re not one of the “boys”. - Leaders are made simply because they are there, but they don’t know how to lead or manage. They don’t understand how to resolve conflict management. Same with HR. - Performance reviews do not lead to pay raises. They lead to bonuses that are so nebulous no one even understands how they work.

Pros

- health insurance is amazing - the early years of growth, funding and fortnite success allowed Epic to exceed the average for a game company, was an enjoyable ride for a few years

Cons

- quick degradation across the spectrum over the last 3 years - poor acquisition and strategy that are costly and ineffective - company is having trouble growing users in a way that can live to up to its valuation expectation - it is still a game company, not competitive enough to software which is growing quickly in the space - executive leadership (senior director and up, includ Csuite) is having trouble scaling up to the next level - comp is no longer competitive since 2023 - there are some gender bias and bullying type of dynamic at the performance review level which is opaque and honestly litigation worthy

Out of touch leadership, punishing workload

Pros

Great benefits package, unlimited time off for those actually able to use it

Cons

Ever-decreasing team sizes with a "do more with less" directive coming from leadership, execs' visions and goals are not in line with reality, no training given to leadership resulting in leads who know nothing about managing people
