Great Place to Work!

Pros

1. People. The best part about EquiLend is the people. EquiLend puts substantial weight during the interview process to hire people that are smart, driven, and most importantly kind. I've built some great relationships during my time here, and it makes work that much more enjoyable. Everyone here is motivated to succeed and advance their careers, and it fosters an exciting environment. There is also a lot of good and regular interaction between the different regions globally. All desks have a camera, so it is easier to speak with and form relationships with people based in locations across the globe. 2. Benefits and perks. The benefits are great compared to where I’ve worked in the past. The traditional benefits are fantastic (e.g., starting PTO balance of four weeks, generous employer-subsidized health insurance, 401(k) contributions vest immediately, etc.), and the perks are great (e.g., cold brew on tap, summer hours, stocked kitchen, casual dress, etc.) 3. Growth opportunities. EquiLend invests in individual growth, whether it’s formal training opportunities or the ability to step up and take on additional responsibilities. You’ll work hard at EquiLend. This place can be demanding, but the work you do will be fulfilling, and you can create your own career path (within reason) if you are a consistently strong performer and seek out the right mentorship. Also, due to the size of the company, you can see how your hard work directly impacts EquiLend and its mission.

Cons

Overall, I highly recommend EquiLend as a place to work for the reasons I mentioned above. The only recommendation I have to the management team is allowing more flexibility to employees in terms of work arrangements. The company is great at permitting ad-hoc work from home requests but does not have a company-wide policy to allow periodic WFH arrangements.

Not as great as they think they are

Pros

Small, fast pace, always trying to improve

Cons

Lots of politics at a very small company. Most seniors hate one and other and try to fight for power. Management pretends they care about employees when in fact they only care about their own power and political games. There are not many growth opportunities since the company is so small and senior employees are not gonna leave.

Pros

1. Slightly above average comp 2. Benefits are decent, but not quite matching company's claimed stature 2. Very impressive and comfortable work space 3. Bunch of small rewarding treats for employees 4. Encouraged and indirectly rewarded charitable activities 5. Sufficient amount of modern technology, yet a large part of legacy is under the carpet. 6. Very competent staff from top to bottom 7. A number of impressive and very competitive products on offer

Cons

1. Over-sized conflicting ego's 2. Ruthless management (quoting previous review - fiefdom) 3. Extremely limited freedom of speech even in private 4. "Big corporation" propaganda mixed with "happy family" indoctrination 5. Uncertainty in the future 6. Obvious ceiling for professional growth, learning and development even for the reason of company size. 7. Disproportional, unclear, highly fluid org chart 8. Misleading impression of minimal turnover 9. Well-established social clustering and segregation 10. Excessive attention to outward appearance and reputation
