Pros

-Benefits: Employee Stock Ownership Plan (an automatic benefit after meeting some basic criteria, to which we don't contribute any of our own money-- we just share in the company profits in the form of seeing an increase to our retirement account balance each year). -Sales Manager excels at making us feel "heard", and he takes time to listen to us and treats us professionally, even if we "mess up". We often collaborate on solving problems -- he listens to our ideas and has often agreed and implemented our suggestions. He also asks for our input on other issues facing the company. I trust him, and he has my back. -High degree of freedom/autonomy to manage accounts and do our own new business development. This makes us feel trusted/valued to get the job done that we're hired to do, without someone second guessing us. There is of course accountability for sales results, but I'm not micromanaged. -Sales leads from Corporate. -Working from home utilizing phone/email/Zoom to meet with customers and prospects (even before COVID) is great. -Benefits: Very reasonable insurance premiums and out of pocket max. HR works hard to keep personal our costs down.

Cons

I am very happy here - I don't have any "cons" to list.

Pros

Equus is a mid-size business that still has a lot of the flexibility of a startup. The hardware business is a tough industry where it's difficult to differentiate yourself. Equus went through a major reorganization from the top down a couple years ago, and then again more recently. Although not everything was done properly and there are still challenges, both re-orgs have helped the company find its path and define how it will be successful moving forward. The company is an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) which means everyone from top to bottom in the org has skin in the game for the company to be successful.

Cons

As an ESOP, behaviors are sometimes driven based on bottom line versus whats right for the company. This was at extreme levels for many years but the introduction of new leadership has softened the stance of bottom line only, but it still exists. The two main locations (MN and CA) operate very differently and have a culture differences. The MN location is sales and back office focused while the CA location is production.
