Pros
Ericsson is one of the best companies to work for. The culture is very relaxed and creative. The company encourages innovation, learning and out of the box thinking. The benefits at Ericsson are some of the best in the industry and the company is very family friendly. This is a company that takes care of people. Ericsson promotes an environment of high social resposibility and goes to great lengths to be a good corporate citizen. As an employee, I feel very proud to be involved with a company of this caliber. Last but not least, Ericsson compensates very well and places high value on its employee base. Even during rough times when a reduction in force is necessary, the company goes to great lengths to ensure the process is a painless as possible
Cons
I do not like the overpowering Matrix structure of the company. It creates pockets of inefficiency and complacency. The top management is overwhelmingly Swedish and generally operates on the 'good ole boy' network. Compensation is not always tied to performance and their is a high tolerance for incompetency. Management is at times too timid to take bold chances and many times they are standing on the sidelines watching others rise to the top.
