Pros

Outstanding health care benefits. Lots of passionate GIS professionals who are really drive transformational change with the organizations they work with. Company culture is to support customers, at all levels. Not just lip service here. Sales plans are developed and executed to support organizations rather than just sell software.

Cons

Internal movement is difficult. The learning environment for new employees, or employees new in their careers varies dramatically depending on managers and pyramids. Work/Life balance is a significant issue. Travel is expected to be done after hours, weekend calls and meetings. Everyone paid by the hour. Competitive offers are based on 50 hour work weeks.

Pros

Great technology, great clients, a great place to make an impact on government, business and society. Wide range of very innovative software and very talented staff that should keep company very competitive for years to come.

Cons

Very flat company structure. Well known for little room for advancement and relocation, only after threat of leaving company. Some mid management can be vindictive and selfish, senior management needs to be a better example.

Pros

You'll love it if you want a less stressful life while you're still doing good work. There're few good teams at Esri. If you're lucky to join such a team, you will enjoy the benefits. Redlands cost of living is not too high (850'ish rent for 1 bhk place). If you don't like too much city buzz, you'll enjoy this quiet place and a relatively stress free job.

Cons

- More emphasis on QA - Profit sharing goes into 401k. Most employees prefer deposit in their paycheque :)
