Pros

-Opportunity to work for a pioneer in GIS technology. -Interesting customer projects. -Great place for a first job. -Work is fairly easy. -Wonderful colleagues, some are quite intelligent.

Cons

-Question whether Esri can prosper into the future (post-Jack) -Lower than industry average pay and opportunities. -Managers lacking management/leadership skills and staff who feel entitled to their jobs while adding little value or performance on a daily basis. -Sales teams with little to no focus or clear lines of responsibilities (creating customer confusion).

Pros

- Work-life balance - Beautiful campus

Cons

- The Inland Empire is a horrible place to live and incredibly over priced - Low pay - If you're looking for a company you can grow with, Esri certainly isn't it. The organization seems completely disinterested with growing its own assets and relies almost entirely on hiring from the outside. You'll want to be very comfortable with the position you're originally hired for because you'll more than likely spend the next 20 years in it if you can stick it out that long.

Esri: An Overview

Pros

Amazing people, great benefits for those who seek to settle down and start a family, excellent opportunity for newcomers to garner valuable experience through the internship program.

Cons

Disappointing salary, upper-level leadership that's more willing to save themselves than protect their subordinates, and a culture which very much promotes bad behavior. Ie. deadlines are often swept aside because a higher up will drop a last minute addition that makes great business sense in their mind, but at significant cost to those who actually have to act upon the sudden changes. Occasional drills are to be expected in any company, but it's guaranteed to happen for any project at any stage of time for the Marketing Department.
