Pros
I have worked multiple roles with Esri and have experienced a "mixed bag". Their hiring process was and still is a joke. When you apply, don't expect a quick process. Expect 2-5 months (seriously). Then expect an all day interview with repeat questions from 7-10 different people. Even when you move to a new role internally.. still expect a few months for the process to begin and then expect an all day interview.. The organization as a whole is rather large, and some departments that should have much better communication, don't have good communication. Your Product Development Manager will most likely be someone who has been with Esri for a very long time and will be stubborn and difficult to work with (because they don't understand new technologies or need to micromanage). Don't be surprised if people attempt to take credit for the work you did. It has happened multiple times within my team, and management will say "we will sort this out" and after a few weeks it will happen again. IF you come in at a lower pay rate, and do more/better work than someone who has been here for a few years longer than you, do not expect to be in the same pay range (even after a few years). Esri cares more about seniority than your efforts (even if you're night/day ahead of your peers who get paid more than you). Cons
-Narcissist Product Development Managers (some not all) -Team can be unwilling to adapt to new methods or technologies. -Pay is on the lower side for what it is you might be doing in a PE role. -Hiring/Promotion process -Post COVID dead offices
