Pros

Great work life balance, interesting work, awesome management overall, tons of investment in personal development, good benefits (minus pay and vacation time, which are both low), and a sense of stability, which is rare in tech.

Cons

Pay is considerably lower than industry standard for software engineers.

Pros

The culture is the best part about Esri. You aren't expected to work 50–60-hour weeks or work on weekends. The people here are mostly pleasant to work with and you can make some really good friends here. The work is meaningful and gives you a sense of purpose. It is usually pretty interesting and keeps you challenged. It is a good feeling to help better the world and you can do that here at Esri. They also have great job security; I don't think anyone ever fears layoffs.

Cons

They like to start people at very low salaries. You get bumped up every year but when you start low, your increase won't be as good since it is percentage based. Vacation time and sick time could be better. If you ever get extremely ill, you'll probably end up using vacation time to cover it or you just won't get paid. You also start at very low vacation time, and it takes 5-10 years to get more.
