      Pros

      Essendant has an excellent culture of employee engagement and service orientated leadership. It lives the values of social responsibility it proclaims. It maintains an exceptional dedication to its customers who are largely independent distributors and resellers.

      Cons

      Essendant works within a very tight margin industry which creates a much needed and constant focus on optimizing productivity and automation to reduce costs. However, it is diversifying its business to help mitigate this pressure and ensure consistent operating performance.

      Pros

      Executive management is actively expanding the products and services offered to offset the decline in the core business (office product, office furniture, ink & toner and janitorial and break room). Good company to work for with competitive salary and benefits.

      Cons

      Outdated legacy processes and IT infrastructure make it challenging to efficiently achieve management goals. Staff turnover and a lack of goal alignments across the business units results in too much reactive work and not enough proactive cutting edge achievements.

      Stable work environment with good people to work with. Current upper management at the facility level missing the boat on keeping existing personnel happy.

      Cons

      Not as supportive as they claim to career advancement and progression. Afraid of change at the local level unless it comes from the top down
