Pros

The only pro was the fact that you can do your own waxing for free during downtime.

Cons

The company is run terribly. They don't do anything to honor valuable, loyal customers however anytime someone makes a petty complaint clearly trying to get a freebie, management bends over backwards for them. That makes a waxers job very challenging. The particular location I worked for has terrible management with no control over the staff, and doesn't listen to or respect any ideas or suggestions from employees. The place is run like a dramatic sorority house. The commission is 5% on services which is absolutely unheard of, and their suggested gratuity signs are very low. The front desk is constantly screwing up the book and pissing off clients, affecting the tips and customer loyalty, and they don't care because it doesn't affect their paycheck. And of course management expects you to work crazy hours and nothing is ever good enough. Save yourself the drama and stress and work anywhere but here!

Pros

This job offers an okay pay starting out... it usually runs around nine dollars an hour, and you make okay benefits. It was often hard to make the benefits, but then other times it wasn't hard, but they want you to share your benefits, so you can't always make every sale for a pass.

Cons

The managers that I have worked with were not very professional. They didn't tell you what they thought about your performance until it was too late. Very unprofessional place for a very professional looking place to be.

Pros

The few pros were, the coworkers who made the job more bearable. As well as, learning some sales skills.

Cons

Firstly, I would like to let those know who are considering applying here to proceed with great caution. If you end up employed in this district, you will be met with a demanding schedule, or frequently work on your own, negligence from upper management, and a lack of recourses to make your work environment the least bit enjoyable. I want to say that when initially starting, it was a decent place to work and I didn't have many complaints. However, that quickly changed when the previous store manager and district manager were no longer involved with my district. Many of the procedures in place are beneficial to one party, and negatively impact another. Be warned the shift on schedule will say one thing, but you will rarely leave on time. Different promotions for customers were implemented that actively harmed one's ability to meet the demand of the already high sales goals. Yet you are the one to blame, and be at risk of losing your job if you do not perform to their unrealistic standards. It is at a point now, where many employees are hastily, and consistently resigning from EWC. Next to nothing is seeming to be done to remedy this. Leaving those who are still there, to pick up the pieces and somehow take on the massive increase of volume and workload. This place seems to not appreciate or commend you when you're overextending yourself for the sake of those who don't even see the value of your work. To them you're a number meant to generate more numbers, often at the expense of the worker and the customer service aspect of the job they constantly pride themselves on.
