Management matters

Pros

The training was put together well, especially the week long conference Account Managers are sent to. I met some great people in the office who are still friends.

Cons

The management matters when it comes to having a successful career. I was an Account Manager who was frowned upon if not arriving to the office at 7:30ish (8 was start) and leaving before 5:30 (5 was end of the day). I was reprimanded for not trying hard enough when working a minimum of 60 hours a week and given very little support and guidance. This job created a great work ethic in myself, so thanks for that. I'm considered a valued and hard working employee at my current employer, and couldn't be happier.

Pros

The team culture is incredible. You have incredible, tenured leadership who have been with the company for years longer than the average recruiting company. Apex was founded in 1996 by three men who then worked for TekSystems, but thought they could run a better company and provide better service both to clients and contractors. Recruiters are held to high metrics and data integrity is one of them. Apex not only encourages, but holds their internal employees accountable for the relationships they're fostering.

Cons

Apex offers uncapped commission, so the base salary is fairly low. The first 6 months are hard, but they're building months.

Good Company to start career

Pros

good culture, fun people, create your own business in a sense, ability to make money quickly. Good company to start career from a corporate perspective.

Cons

old school mentality sales and training tactics. recruiters wear bankers clothes and they are on the phone all day.. not needed. Not really any room for advancement other than a variety of different account management roles.
