Pros

I don't have to have a camera monitoring me sometimes.

Cons

You’re contracted by a gaming company that raked in $5.76 billion in 2022, yet they offer you a mere $17 an hour with no overtime—ever. Apex’s healthcare package is a joke, costing $500 a week. On a $35k annual salary, you qualify for federal marketplace plans, which is a small consolation. PTO accrues at a pitiful rate of one hour per week. Many of my colleagues, who have children, are forced onto welfare due to these abysmal wages. Management is a farce. They blindly follow whatever the contract dictates, never questioning the feasibility or wisdom of their decisions. Promotions are reserved for yes-men who never challenge authority. The incompetence is staggering, with frequent mispronunciations, misspellings, and a glaring lack of formal education. No one knows how to use a CRM or adherence system, leaving us to clock in and out of four different systems. Moderators are writing scripts just to keep us afloat, and now management, in a laughable move, is supposed to QA our work. Instead, they sneak around, making moderators QA each other’s work. Our contractors, stakeholders, and leaders are so disconnected from reality that they dismiss any suggestions and act surprised when no one attends their open office hours. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE REGUALTIONS PLACED ON CONTRACTORS LIKE APEX!

Pros

They’ll definitely have you start within a or 2 depending on if you already have a clearance. You get paid weekly, there’s opportunities to move within the company itself. My recruiter was very informative, answered all my questions, and contractor care was helpful when I was still receiving text messages about submitting my timesheet on Sunday night even though I quit working there. One of the recruiters, Tyler Copley also helped me make my resume better and make what I previously did sound and read off as more professional so I definitely appreciated that! I didn’t get that role, however, I was a better fit for a different role. Pay is decent, especially for working as tech support, and they’ll help you get that foot in the door in the IT world.

Cons

No pto for the first year, sick pay was 1 hour per 30 hours worked, which is absolutely abysmal especially in 2023! If you try to move up or go onto a different contract, the recruiters are very particular and want your resume to match exactly what the client wants to a T, otherwise your resume won’t be submitted to that client, and won’t pursue it any further. The benefits itself could and should be improved. At best, it’s 15% discount in order to get certs, and those certs aren’t cheap.

Hi, we would like to thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. While there are many factors that come into play when it comes to consultant PTO/sick time/holiday pay, it is most often determined by the type of contract the client has in place with us and/or the length of the contract. Based on the average length of our consultant contracts, by the time the requirement of time worked is met, the assignment has or is getting ready to end. However, we would like to learn more about your specific situation. Please contact us at contractorcommunity@apexsystems.com so we can learn about your experience and provide additional information. Thank you.

Pros

- Kept busy in your daily activities thanks to people dumping their work onto you. The day goes by pretty quickly. - They promote a work-life balance that allows you the opportunity to work over 40 hours a week with no overtime, working 10 hour days. - Work culture where people will contact you off hours expecting tasks that aren’t time sensitive be done ASAP - A benefits package that is all encompassing (of your paycheck) if you elect for any type of benefit - Forced philanthropy events, required charity events, and heavy emphasis on ESG through mandatory DEI lectures. - PTO - They will reimburse your gym membership (only up to 20 per month)

Cons

- Incredibly dysfunctional and hostile workplace - Expectation for employees to juggle multiple responsibilities while simultaneously doing their own job - Severe lack of communication on management’s part, but they will demand immediate response or action on anything they send out - Leadership shows little concern for anyone below them, do not accommodate or attempt to meet the needs of the average employee - low level management plays favorites and discriminates on who works what business (at least from my personal experience from the multiple teams I’ve worked on) - Managers have a tendency to make the simplest processes as long and ridiculous as possible - The way they train employees sets most up for failure - Work culture is virtually nonexistent for the regulars (managers and a few select employees get to go on regular all expense paid trips) - They will cut into your commissions as much as possible and look for any reason to not pay you - Toxic employees will look for any opportunity to steal business, candidates, or hurt you for personal gain - Have been known to terminate employees who are in good standing and have no reason - Announced a complete organizational restructuring and have refused to tell us how it will affect us specifically
