Pros

-Contracted through Apex Systems for a big-name tech company. Entire team that I worked with at this company was contracted through Apex. -The team I worked with was awesome; some really great, smart, talented people. However, our team (including myself) was interviewed and finally selected by the customer company, not Apex Systems. -Only actually stepped foot on Apex Systems premises once, when hired. After that, rarely hear from Apex employees. However, our Apex representative that handled our team was very responsive and provided us with information in a timely manner whenever she was allowed to do so. This was seldom as most of the goings-on were handled by the customer company team lead, and management above.

Cons

-Low pay. -Non-compete agreement mandatory as part of employment. -High turnover. -No benefits included. Health insurance offered as an option, but it was a horrible plan that cost 25% of your pay (Not including vision, prescriptions, etc... all that costs even more). I left Apex Systems after less than a year when I received a much better job offer: higher pay, full benefits, etc...

Pros

Take whatever expense reimbursement you get and be happy with it. If a restaurant doesn't have a POS machine, eat the cost and the food. If they send you across the country be happy with 8 hours of travel, max. Do not do the math!

Cons

They required that travel be booked 3 weeks in advance on an HP (Hewlett Packard) contract. I was fired over the phone on a Monday and they want me to pay for the ticket booked for the next Sunday. In fact, they are going to make it easy for me and subtract it from my expense reimbursement. They only pay 8 hours of travel so if they send you across the country and it takes 12 hours, you will get paid for 8. Their initial health care insurance is ACA non-compliant.

Young working environment- fun and competitive

Pros

I am sure this is not true for all locations, but the office I was in was quite young. Most of my colleagues were late 20s to mid 30s. This makes for a fun atmosphere, but also a challenging one. The nature of staffing is very competitive, and when you have an office full of up-and-comers, the stakes are even higher.

Cons

I wish I had more hands-on training. As my first staffing role, there was a lot I needed to learn. Training courses or activities would have helped with my development.
