Pros

Concern, communication, collaboration, pay and benefits. During the pandemic the safety of the employees has always been a paramount concern. With forward leaning technology and innovation ECS was able to continue to work and provide quality products for clients while maintaining the safety of employees. The benefits package is at or above industry standards, the educational opportunities are always available and management encourages increasing knowledge through financial grants for educational opportunities and bonuses for certifications. They are veteran friendly, family oriented and I highly recommend this company.

Cons

Most of the work is contract related

Pros

>good pay >40 hrs a week + benefits

Cons

>bureaucratic people that don't know what you do as an IT person, and consistently annoying with what is basically busy work--in IT >lots of long phone calls with people that could have been an e-mail >having a large list of requirements for basic IT jobs. Someone entry level without a degree could do a lot of the jobs that people with masters degrees could do in their position >when it was getting towards the end of my contract, they wouldn't say anything >we were forced to move their equipment DURING the first few weeks of COVID-19, and management made jokes like "oh, our little non-essential move, tee-hee" and "oh! I'm so tired of being holed up in my house, at least you all get to go to work!!!" excuse me? >having to research new things to learn how to do because they don't have anyone that could help us because the contracts were expired. >I'm sure others in this career field understand being called "IT" and being asked for help with literally anything with an electrical pulse. That's what this job is. Wasting your tax dollars.

Pros

Better pay than some Field Service Engineer/Subject Matter Expert-level jobs.

Cons

Because this is the federal government, the bottom dollar is not the most important thing. People from retail will have a hard time understanding how disjointed and disorganized everything can be. The job titles are just for show because random tasks will pop up on a daily basis that you will be expected to handle because there is nobody else.
