Pros

Flexible work from home arrangements. Unlimited PTO. Initially awesome company pre-Valence.

Cons

Rampant undisguised cronyism, racism and promotion of people with no leadership or management skills

Pros

The PTO, the WFH policy, some of the benefits. The ability to work around smart, laid back people, who are very passionate about the healthcare space.

Cons

Evolent is tough for young people and women. Most of senior leadership is male and females throughout the company are constantly passed over for promotions and opportunities. Before she left, one of the top woman executives told her young employee that "this is not the place to work if you're a woman." Young people are paid below industry standard, expected to work incredibly long days, and silenced whenever they ask for answers or explanations about unfair practices. Management wants to keep you at your level for as long as possible.

Pros

Beautiful, modern office with standing desks. I think the company genuinely wants to move the needle in healthcare and most people there share that passion. Free snacks are a plus, but they are usually gone within a few hours of being put out. Flexible telecommute schedule.

Cons

This is a consulting firm and the majority of the staff are young, come in at 10 and work late giving the impression of a flexible, work/life balance for all. Working standard hours and leaving at 5 seems frowned upon and I was spoken to by management about taking lunch hours as they are discouraged (this was not an hourly position). Generous PTO seems like a facade as well as requests get denied even though the time is there and there are no conflicts. Managers are promoted very quickly and do not have true leadership skills. Expect to work nights and weekends and not because of workload, because of having to redo work multiple times because management cannot communicate. This is a good place to get your foot in the door if your fresh out of B school, but not some place I'd recommend beyond that. There is zero work/life balance here, although they'd like you to believe otherwise coming in.
