Pros

PTO 20 days 8 sick days Decent health & dental package Summer half days Decent work life balance as long as your team is fully staffed.

Cons

The CEO and the executive team does not hold toxic directors and managers accountable creating hostile work environments. Their employee handbook is extremely outdated. You have to use your PTO days for between December 26 to January 1, other companies have the common sense to close the office. High turnover rates, with no replacements for key positions. The executive team makes current employees take on the responsibilities of off boarding employees with no additional compensation. A lot of micromanagement from the board members. The culture here embodied a lot of virtue signaling about diversity, equity, inclusion and equality without actually practicing it in the workplace. Human Resources Department is literally one person. Low morale amongst the staff.

Pros

- Great culture for people with families - depending on the department you work in, there is a flexible time off policy and no one looks down on taking personal time to attend to an emergency with your kids, for example. - Generous benefits and vacation time (20 days + personal time and sick days). - There are some opportunities to move around laterally within the company. - Pretty diverse staff (though not at the highest levels)

Cons

- Salaries are on the low end and raises were few and far in between. - Turnover is super high because almost everyone is overworked and underpaid. - Very little emphasis on grooming rising talent. Those who show potential just get an increased workload while others coast. - Once you get to a certain point, not much room to grow (which is why people often leave after 1-2 years) - The overall vision for the company is very unclear - trying to do too much at once

Pros

- Great PTO package (24 PTO, 8 sick, 2 float holidays) - Pretty good medical and dental benefits - Very flexible hybrid work policy: great job for coasting and not doing much work but still collecting a paycheck. Not great if you want to be mentally challenged and want opportunities for advancement and growth

Cons

- At least on my team, there was an overall culture of trying to do the least amount of work possible. This cultivated a tone of resentment towards anyone that required support or collaboration on a project because this would require collaborators to do 'more work'. Getting collaboration and support from team members and leadership was like pulling teeth, and would often be viewed as you 'not pulling your weight' even if the project could not be fully realized without team collaboration. People were not willing to help each other at all. - Jobs are boring and repetitive, you are expected to keep doing the same thing year after year with no room for growth or project change - No accountability for team leaders, if you disagree with your team leader or feel bullied by them there is nothing you can do about it and no one you can talk to without making your life worse - Basically no room for growth. The company is incentivized to put people in positions and keep them there so they can keep renewing their project grants. The goal is not employee growth or even growth of the project. The goal is to keep renewing grants so once you are hired into a position they want to keep you there doing the exact same thing year after year so that they can keep renewing the associated grants. If you were given the opportunity to grow they would have to back fill your position which they do not like doing. - HR is horrible. The department is literally only one or two people who have a track record for ignoring employees and not answering emails about important items until several follow ups have been sent with their manager CC'd.
