Pros

Good benefits. Fully global organization. Industry leader with good name recognition. Great opportunities for growth for those to whom opportunity is granted.

Cons

A very political environment. If you believe in going the extra mile for the team, be prepared to find yourself corralled and undermined into a path of low visibility with your work dedicated to propping up mediocre employees who gained their position through personal favor.

Pros

free coke in fridges, and a free team lunch every week - so you can complain with your friends while 'in the office'

Cons

management all promoted internally - anyone who has a choice will leave and the left-overs - tall, thin, hard blonde women and committed brown-noses become managers thrusting 1980's carrot and stick management style means alcohol and cheap weekends away plus lots of performance reviews leading to dismissal if you go for an interview, ensure you ask what the staff turnover is. The truthful answer is a horrific 40%, they all know that but will lie to you. bear in mind that some people have 10 years service, so you can do the numbers, most new starters last less than a year unethical - they charge based on what they can get away with so some customers pay 10 times more for the same product ps - beware the odd 4-star review on this site, obviously faked by management

Pros

- Relaxed working environment (dress code, social events etc) - Good opportunities for job variation and personal growth (taking the lead of projects) - Feedback culture (however isn't always acted upon) - Great looking offices - Good work/life balance

Cons

- Poor salaries for a FTSE100 financial firm - Grinding bureaucracy and lack of ownership delegated by senior management, coupled with senior management wanting us to be 'agile' leads to inevitable conflict - Unflexible working hours etc - Management hiding things that don't really need to be hidden. - Some extremely poor immediate line managers (not mine, but observed)
