Pros

There is good experience to be gained, at the cost of your dignity

Cons

- Management threaten to withhold wages - Will say they do not expect you to work overtime always but then contradict by using indirect pressure to manipulate you into staying late etc rather than incentivising - Training is minimal to non existent, more like picking apart mistakes without giving proper direction - No trust is present, they will not let you take holidays, days off and do not have any conscious understanding of the fact that employees are human beings - Rude, I've heard a director swear at and belittle employees. Sexism, racial jokes and underlying bullying issues run rampant - Time off is non existent - Management do not always stick to incentives, move goal posts and are constantly dangling a never materialising carrot - Most glass door reviews are false - Directors and managers act like school children, I've witnessed a companies house listed director gossiping and making fun of one of his best performers and most loyal people when out for drinks with others

Pros

I was at explore for 18 months. I arrived at explore after travelling for 2 years previous and I had no sales experience. They saw the potential in me and from the beginning helped me day to day until I left. They support you in every aspect of your job and constantly challenge you to improve by giving constructive criticism in all areas of your work. This is not just from the owners and directors but from the senior consultants at the business, they all give you the time needed to help and show you how you can continue to improve. One of the biggest pros for me was the company culture and social aspect. Working hard is always important within this industry but when you can have a laugh and enjoy yourself while you are doing this it becomes a job that you can really enjoy and get a lot out of. The money in recruitment speaks for itself, but if you work hard and listen you can reach not just a great salary but the benefits and perks that come with being a consistent biller. Holiday incentives, company car allowance, lunch clubs at some of the nicest restaurants in London and more.

Cons

The hours can be demanding from you, however it is simple you put in what you want to get out of it! Core hours are there but if you want to exceed yourself you put the work in and do everything you can to impress. This is just the nature of the beast
