      Pros

      I have been with Extended Stay America for almost 18 years. I enjoyed being able to come in at a entry level position and was trained by some great managers to get to where I am. I have seen this company grow in many ways and at the current moment this is probably the best level I have seen it. They give you the chance to cross train, grow, and get promoted. My location is in a military town, and with that being said it is very easy to transfer to other locations. Each property is different, and we all have challenges, but the team we have is great and each year it gets better and better. My current District Manager is great, and is very understanding.

      Cons

      Being a salary employee it does seem like they own you. In the past I have had some not so nice District Managers and not care about situations dealing with my children and health. The biggest challenge currently is turn over, and housekeeping hours. Training hours, and class hours are not given so it effects us, and it is not controllable unless all extra hours are worked by the salary employee. Properties are suppose to be uniformed with our guidelines, sometimes when employees go to work at other locations it is not. Biggest challenge is to keep a good team and keep everyone motivated and move in the right direction always.
