      Pros

      Laid back atmosphere, rarely have to work overtime, some good people there.

      Cons

      Bad managers are never disciplined and their poor employees have no protection against them. Company has no desire to innovate and provides little training or opportunities for professional development. Vice presidents are very much an "old boys" club dominated by group think and adverse to change.

      Disappointing career at Extron

      Good entry level job for someone with little to no I.T. experience. Pretty good benefits and pay. Large and stable company. Flexible work schedule. O/T very rarely required. Dress is business casual. There were some cool co-workers there

      Cons

      If you're not promoted within a couple of years from this position, take it as a hint that it's not going to happen. Once learned, the tasks and duties become dull and tedious with little opportunity to do anything interesting. Horribly inefficient work flow for publishing content to the web site. Web content specialists are caught between product marketing department and senior management. If deadlines are not met as a result of their actions or lack of, YOU and only YOU will be held accountable. Rather than fixing the obvious and streamlining the process, the standard response to the web content specialists is that they need to be more "proactive" in order to meet deadlines.
