Pros

A chance to work in high-interest R&D. Great research freedom and funding. Advancement opportunities if you play the game

Cons

Toxic management culture. No feedback, completely opaque and subjective performance review process, despite numerous claims otherwise. Many were encouraged and told they were doing great, then fired for 'poor performance' the next week. 401k match taken away for nearly 2 years. Terrible morale for both union/nonunion workers. Pervasive sense of dishonesty in all management decisions.

Pros

Salary and benefits were good

Cons

Management views everyone at the lower level as just a number and dollar sign. Our managers rotated every 2-3 years from other departments, so we were ranked for career progression by people with zero years of applicable experience.
