Pros
You can achieve a high salary and position if you’re willing to work for it and fairly I might add. Ability to gain a ton of experience and understand systems well. Can be very rewarding.
Cons
Life/Work balance is not achievable for those at the top at a manufacturing site. It might be in Spring, but at a site you’ll be knocking down 60+ hours a week to just keep your head above water. Too many trying to be managers and not enough trying to be an SME. They’re trying to improve the people management side of the business but their answer is to add more on top of those already carrying the load and then wonder why no one does it.
