      Some Good Things, but Time for a Culture Shift

      Pros

      Excellent work/life balance, lots of company-paid-for training and professional development opportunities, great people for the most part, stable company, good pay

      Cons

      Antiquated rating/ranking system, very bureaucratic and stuck in their ways, software developers get no respect and are treated as "second-class" by the majority of the non-IT employees, not "agile"

      Pros

      Stable, well established large corporation. Compensation well above average.

      Cons

      Employee ranking system can be demotivating unless you are regularly in the top 20% in performance. That too often equates to 80% feeling undervalued, under appreciated.

      Pros

      Highly competent people, good pay, pushed into "stretch" assignments, benefits are great, relocation package is top-notch, decisions are well thought out, ranking system keeps people on their toes and weeds out the bottom 10%

      Cons

      Not gay friendly, 10+ hour days 5-6 days per week, no work life balance, not enough diversity (most of the meetings I attended consisted of all men and mostly white men), ranking system causes competition amongst peers and prevents sharing of ideas
