Pros

Great pay for just about any engineer, particularly fresh out of college. Diverse opportunities within the company but there is always the possibility of stagnation. Most diverse careers stem from the Upstream organization. Opportunity to make ridiculous money if assigned to a hard-to-staff international location for a few years. Culture varies by branch, but is generally a bit stiff and militaristic.

Cons

Culture varies by branch, but is generally a bit stiff and militaristic. Small fish in big pond syndrome abounds.
