Sneaky Management. When dealing with Management, keep employment attorney close. Seek representation before engaging with Management over their activities.

Above average pay, great variety of work, and lots of opportunity for cross functional assignments

Cons

Little work life balance while professed otherwise. Management frequently says one thing and does another behind the scenes. Very strong culture of this is how it is done, even though market and industry is changing. New initiatives, while present, are slow and reactive, rather than proactive. I frequently had to cancel vacation days to stay abreast of work given the volume and tight deadlines imposed.

Forced ranking is based on “who you know” instead of performance, which seems to hinder any real collaboration or teamwork. No trust between supervisors and employees. Annual review is more like an interview for your position, and is used to keep those that aren’t in the “cool crowd” in the bottom third.
