Pros

It’s a diamond in the rough. Steady benefits, genuinely good intentions with employees and ambitious values. The benefits offering is a good mixture of short-term and long-term incentives and a wide array of goodies that span different stages of employee life. The employee base has good energy and operates in a beautiful office space. The mission is worth sticking with the company focused on the greater good.

Cons

Small pockets of nebulous leadership. Heavily regulated. There’s a large appetite to do too much and because of that don’t always move on the right things. Sometimes it appears there’s a fear to make the right changes due to indecisive leaders. Pros outweigh the cons by far.

I compare every job to the Bank

Pros

I had the best experiences at the Bank - from career advancement to DEI. As a black person, I have never worked anywhere where I felt so valued and trued. I had to move and leave the Bank in 2021. I am sure things have changed, but if it's anything like when I went there, it is truly an amazing workplace. I always consider the Bank a hidden gem; you wouldn't think an organization in the finance industry could be so warm and dedicated to employees outside of finance and sale. They should teach a masterclass in employee engagement. If I ever move back to Chicago, I would gladly accept any role the Bank has to offer. I miss you all!

Cons

The pay was a bit low, but there's a possibility I didn't negotiate hard enough.
