Very Bad Experience

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Good pay which meets market standards

Cons

Very bad work environment, senior team members would talk down to junior members, talk in a rude way, insult people on video calls and do not treat people with respect. Managers support this behavior. On talking on this to the manager, I was told that is the way the person talks and that I will face many such people in the future. Bad work like balance. We were forced to work on all weekends for 3 months. Interview was taken for Spring Boot, Java 8 etc since I have experience on these technologies. But the project given was on 20+ year struts framework. When asked to be put in a project based on the newer technologies that I have experience with, I was told its not possible. And when I resigned, I was told they can move me to a different team sometime in the future.

Over-worked & Under Paid

Pros

The pros are ability to work remote & co-worker who mostly want to excel & do a good job.

Cons

As a manager I wind up working usually from 7am to 5/6pm. (10+hrs/day). A lot of times with no breaks. I work about 10 hours over-time without getting compensated. Add to that inflation going up to a 40 year high to 10%+ (and other services/& products going up 20%). It gets frustrating when you see on LinkedIn that you don't even get a market salary. A few other experienced managers in our department left over the last few months. Senior management told one manager they couldn't give him a raise & to work fewer hours. But, they wouldn't give him another employee to cover the work. So, why even say that? Some of the learning classes are a bit ridiculous. I believe in respecting everyone in the workplace. But, FIS seems to push empathy & understanding over competence, understanding, & getting the job done. I have worked for FIS over 10 years & have never gotten any real I.T solutions to automate a number of manual processes.
