That said, internal communications are poor at best, leaving our best practices for clients we advise - not our own people. Often decisions are made without informing teams, departures are openly discussed with leaders actively degrading those who left, and allowing rumors to circulate. Managers at the top level are often political beasts, some with no people-management skills whatsoever. Mental health is not taken seriously by those at the top and - while speaking freely is encouraged - it is rarely listened to or taken seriously. Promotions are given to who is the favorite and compensation is often discussed by leaders as if you are asking for money out of their own pocket. While the quality of work is high, the management is almost incomprehensibly poor.
