Pros

911 experience, health benefits. 1 or 2 managers actually care and are quality.

Cons

Low pay. Over worked. Management is a joke. When you first get hired they serve the cool aid, and everyone drinks it. Work there a year and you find out just how poor working conditions are. Care used to be about the patients and EMTs. Now they are about money. Everyone's first priority is making sure care gets every penny. Care has sacrificed its employees to accomplish this. Scheduling is a joke . No overtime unless your friends with scheduling, then you can work as many hours and shifts as you want.

Pros

very good learning experience if you go into it with the right mind set. Try to learn something new every call.

Cons

Far away from where I live and the usually long times sitting in an ambulance.

Pros

911 experience, for those going the Fire Department direction. 401k match up to 6%. Great health benefits.

Cons

Departments don't operate in sync with each other. Not much room for growth on the business side.
