Pros

The Minnetonka Famous Dave's is a great place for student and young people to work. The management team is very flexible with working around personal obligations and goals. Many of my fellow team members have worked at this location for 10 or more years which proves that it is also a long term option for some people. This store runs a great catering service which is just another way for its employees to make quick but good money.

Cons

Without a college education there are few opportunities for advancement when working in the restaurant. Also, during the slow seasons, shifts can become scarce.

Pros

Awesome atmosphere and great culture. Very inclusive in approach, everyone is apart of the "Famous Family". Great brand recognition, it's fun to answer the question, "so where do you work?". Coworkers are great, everyone is very friendly and open. They have a good vision for how they want the culture to be. Great food :) (keep in mind when reading these reviews that most of the restaurants are owned by franchisees, so experiences can vary drastically from restaurant to restaurant, similarly my review is based only on my experience a the corporate office of FDA)

Cons

Way too high of expectations. They are trying to run every department with way too few employees and still expect above and beyond what a fully staffed organization would expect. Having high expectations isn't a bad thing, but it gets to the point where you end up accomplishing nothing (or nothing you want to put your name to) because there is so much that needs to be done that everything gets half done. When something gets close to being done, you have to stop and move to the next thing and then (surprise, surprise) what you've left as "kind of done" blows up in your face. A trend on the executive team seems to be: disorganized, crazy (seriously), unrealistic, and working for the "board" not for the guests or even for the employees.
