- Too many of the wrong kind of people in some of the most powerful positions: people who have been with the company from the start have been pushed up into higher positions regardless of whether they have any kind of leadership/management capability
- HR overly enthusiastic about the company turning a blind eye on things or blaming the employee/making the employee responsible, even when things go terribly wrong
- Employees 'bribed' to feel happy in the workplace with lots of meaningless free treats
- A lot of the employees only care about their career/themselves and do not care about the company one bit.
- Likewise, the company does not care about the individual.
- What is deemed to be an 'anarchist' culture where supposedly everyone can say or do what they want is actually just a system of tyranny where your boss can tell you what they want and you're supposed to clap when he is finished. If you don't like it, there's the door. That's your freedom (that and the pizza).
- Due to this a lot of people are just keeping their mouth shut.
- Average age of the employees (Engineering and HR!) is too low. The company likes to hire young people between 20 and 35. Diversity (or lack thereof) is an issue.
Overall the problem is that the company wants to think they are something that they are absolutely not. I have found it deeply depressing to work there.
