Pros

Good health benefits, good discount on goods and free lunch provided on Wednesday's (while that lasts). Monday and Friday remote while only in office Tuesday-Thursday.

Cons

Favoritism ran rampant in my department and if you were not in the 'inner circle' than your path was set and when any kind of reorganization would happen you'd be pushed out. There was never a clear career path to help you grow or get promoted, it was all put on you to determine your own success but other solely determined your raises or promotions. DEI was shoved down our throats every week.

Pros

Interesting industry (gambling) and there are some passionate, smart, employees

Cons

Promotions are based more on existing friendships than merit - and they will use "experience in gambling" as an excuse to hire/promote extremely unqualified people, rather than thinking about experience in the roles responsibility. This has led to a mainly international employee base - so be ready to work all hours of the day as they have people in Ireland, NY, Denver, and Australia. The main criticism is decision making and know-how of many of the people in leadership positions - constantly behind the curve, don't want to change anything, zero foresight, will spin anything to make themselves look good (even if that means lying to execs), and won't listen to anyone who has more technical experience unless they worked in gambling.

No upward mobility

Pros

-Fanatics has a strong presence in the industry -The day-to-day people you will work with are typically great -Some cool tech work across three company verticals -40% employee discount -A lot of sports fans work here (if that's your thing)

Cons

-There's no upward mobility. I spent five years at Fanatics and took on more responsibilities that exceeded the JD. I never saw a change in title or compensation. But because this is a sports-adjacent field, people will take less money to work here, which negatively impacts internal equity. -Benefits are very standard. Unlimited PTO is nice but you are at the whims of your manager. -New commerce leadership is disconnected from day-to-day workers. Frequent town halls without much substance. The Commerce CEO will take questions about what he's wearing that day, but if someone dares to ask about cost of living adjustments, the answer is blunt and hostile. -I have never received my full bonus. This has also made working here untenable from a COL perspective. Last year, we somehow hit 0% of goals against forecast. Is that our fault or those in charge putting together such lofty forecasts? -Remote work is dead. Some have been grandfathered in, but the company is limiting the talent pool. At first one day a week was required and it is now three days. I fully expect 4-5 days in 2025. -Data infrastructure is a mess. Things break every single day and often leads to catastrophic fires. There is often no steady documentation or thorough guidelines in place. There is no standard or organization. -Company asserts it is a tech company. A lot of focus has been on site experience versus product quality concerns. -Prep for IPO has lead to anxiety about job security. The layoff process is very cruel.
