Pros

Work on large-scale, high-throughput systems with real business impact. Strong exposure to event-driven architectures, cloud-native technologies, and production ownership. Teams value engineering rigor, performance optimization, and reliability. Good learning opportunities for backend and distributed systems engineers.

Cons

Fast-paced environment with high ownership and responsibility, which can be demanding during peak periods. Teams move quickly, so engineers are expected to learn new systems and adapt rapidly.

Pros

Good work life balance, good people, good diversity and inclusion culture (to a fault, see below)

Cons

Low Pay, upper management never seems to know what's going on, extreme favoritism especially if you're a "Yes" man, little opportunity for growth, all the good leaders are lower in the hierarchy so good luck once you get an upper-level manager, TOO diverse and inclusive. Lots of diversity hires recently. Once overheard recruiters say they intentionally didn't hire a candidate for being a white male.
