Pros
Great benefits - 401k, good health insurance choices including PPO & HMO options, dental and vision, plentiful PTO including sick days, vacation, personal days, floating holidays, standard holidays and summer Fridays pending manager approval and work schedule. Bonus plan for all employees rolled out in 2017. Catered lunches twice a week, plethora of food, snack and beverage selections provided including healthier options. Beautiful new Beverly Hills office with lots of common open work space both inside and outside. Promo codes for $600 worth of movie tickets and $600 worth of FandangoNOW EST/VOD service per year disbursed through twice yearly codes. Amazing company events from festive holiday parties to the highly anticipated annual summer party. Training and development opportunities internally and externally. Fandango is an industry leader on a long continuous growth streak. It is an exciting place to be as the company continues to transform and redefine itself for an ever changing business landscape. Never satisfied to rest on its laurels or remaining in the past Fandango looks to the future to see where the business is headed and position itself in that direction. It is a fast paced environment with a high rate of change preventing boredom for those who are up to the challenge. If you want slow and steady look elsewhere. For me it has been a place of opportunity and growth and I genuinely enjoy going into work each day. I am part of a great team and have the best manager of my career. There are many smart, talented people at this company. No place is perfect and not everyone is a rock star but we certainly have some gems. Senior Management is generally very approachable. Schedules are insane but I've never known an employee to be turned down when they request time with an executive from the VP of Human Resources to the President.
Cons
With growth comes opportunities and challenges. Sometimes it is a bumpy ride when you are pushing boundaries, reinventing identities and integrating new businesses. Like any company a large part of your job happiness depends on your direct manager and team. Not all are equal and if the fit isn't good it will hurt your experience. Choose wisely, ask lots of questions and see how the people around seem to feel about their jobs when interviewing. Read all reviews including mine and judge for yourself. Most people's experience will fall in the middle and not at the extremes. Being part of NBCU and Comcast has pluses and minuses. The positive is benefits and perks from the relationship. The negative is that there is a corporate side with more systems, processes, etc. that can slow things down and Fandango can't override them when moving faster than the parent companies. Like any company there is dysfunction, politics and conflict. Some departments will have more than others but I've never found a company without some degree of this. There can be competing agendas and priorities and these can change rapidly. Extremely meeting intensive culture. While keep all stakeholders informed is good, having calendar so full of meetings your are left wondering when to do work can be challenging some days.
