Pros

Amazing coworkers and peers Great benefits and PTO leave (401k, medical/dental. and college reimbursement) A great company to work for

Cons

Pay - I found out a year after I joined Fannie Mae that I got paid a lot less than my peers. My manager was kind enough to tell me that management would try to "get me up with my peers". A complete blow to my confidence here at Fannie. Personally, i know salary isn't everything about a job, but it essentially pays for my life outside of work. Knowing I got played even when I did my research in their payscale, it just felt utterly awful. Micromanagement - Managers micromanage every second of your day and expects you to work without any breaks at all. It seems like the focus of a "worklife balance" is to work your associates to the brink and compare their time against others in your department or division. There's an expectation of working over the clock just to make your manager happy. Work/life balance- there isn't one here in Fannie. I have to think about work even after Fridays just because of the sheer amount of pressure just to finish an unsustainable amount of projects/work. Employee Engagement - It's there, but it's not enough. I feel like employee engagement is just here as an afterthought . Managers tend to prioritize work over employee socials here, so there isn't a lot of room for employees to decide if they can attend the various employee socials at Fannie.

Pros

-Good people -Strong work/life balance -Broad scope of work if hungry for it

Cons

-Benefits and pay were reduced and are causing a race for the exit. Lots of turnover since management froze pay, reduced 401k contribution, and distributed minimal bonuses despite a record year of profitability for the company in 2020.

Pros

Great benefits, SERVE program is nice, lots of leave

Cons

Culture is toxic, management is all about who you like (high school) and no one cares if you get the job done or spend millions more than you said.. I mean hey We RAKE in the money. NO RAISES for top performers, if you aren't on a percentage bonus - your bonus sucks. Goal setting is pathetic - What does your BOSS want - you don't matter
