-PTO is a pretty picture, starting off with 19 days. You get 1 floating holiday and 8.5 paid holidays. This seems like a pro, you say? You wouldn’t need this much time off if there was a manageable workload; that’s the long con. -If you work 40 hours here, you’ll likely never get a decent night’s sleep. The inventories are ridiculous and it won’t matter how much volume exists in your office/zone because you’ll assist other offices/zones. -Tenured adjusters are leaving in droves. Those that haven’t left are actively and quietly seeking alternative employment. -The culture here is not the culture of Farmers past. There are some really, really great leaders who are trying really hard to maintain the past culture and even make it better, but there are leaders higher up than them who will crush everything. Leaders have zero time to actually lead. It. Is. Not. Their. Fault. We see you suffering silently. -The new CEO and his return to office policy. -The acquisition of MetLife. You don’t eat garbage and stay healthy. This ship is sinking and it’s just found the tip of the iceberg. The water just hasn’t risen past the boilers. Sound familiar? Titanic? Who perished first? Who took over all of the emergency vessels? The rich only care for themselves. This company, all of its volume, was purchased a few years ago, and Farmers employees were stunted. No raises. But we absorbed the volume. Our staff. And we watched the hemorrhage happen and knew we were well understaffed to take it on. Do not board this ship unless you want to bail water and spiral into a depth that is very hard to recover from. -Did I mention attrition and turnover? -Career advancement here is incredibly difficult.

Now there's a new CEO. And he decided to break that promise and his employees trust. One of his first decisions as CEO was to break the news that people within 50 miles of an office were now required to come in 3 times a week. This includes the Woodland Hills office, which means that people living on the opposite side of LA now have to account for a 4+ hour roundtrip commute. And the worst part is that the ostensive reason of more collaboration is completely untrue, there are entire teams who will have to come into an office simply to interact with the rest of their team through Zoom. Farmers showed a complete disregard for their employees, who put their trust in the company as they made their life decisions, selling cars and starting families. I firmly believe that it's a shady way to do soft layoffs, or quiet firing.
