Pros

Co-workers were great to work with. They were conscientious and professional at all times. Ethical attorneys and expectations.

Cons

Workload was impossible. Little, if any, clerical/secretarial support. Employees are set-up to be terminated "for cause", at the whim of the managing attorney. Particularly, the workers' compensation managing attorney cannot be trusted to abide by her word.

Too New, Dead End

Pros

Good company as far as caring about the client and making sure they are adequately insured

Cons

Farmers is new to the western PA area so rates are not competitive at all. Farmers is just getting started here so they are unsure how to properly set rates and are much higher than most if not all other companies at this time. There are NO LEADS. You are expected to find your own leads, drive to their house (even if they are 30 miles away or more) to see the house and pretty much do what an experienced underwriter is supposed to do. You have to sign a contract choosing either "draw" which you get a set $3,000 per month and no commissions, or "match" where you get $2,500 and get commissions on top of the base. Either amount is solely a loan and if you do not meet their quotas, they start taking the money back. You are also charged for running a customer's motor vehicle report which is $6-8 per PERSON. (Imagine a family of 6) It is nothing but a dead end.
