      For 10 years I received excellent reviews, never disciplined, however when I turned 48 I was terminated with no reason.

      Pros

      Benefits were ok and you could not beat working in the field in a home office.

      Cons

      After employees hit a certain age, you will be terminated. After I was terminated I found out that in the years after, many colleagues were terminated due to age discrimination. It is tough to prove. Too many management changes, nobody wanted to take responsibility for the quality or lack there of .

      Paid time off, paid holidays, flexible schedule

      Cons

      Management is terrible. You are trained to work independently then they micromanage you to death. Claim inventories are out of control and extremely stressful. Even with the best attitude the job will mentally drain you. Over half the people you talk to are pissed at you because of the way someone else treated them in the company and then it is your job to fix it. They say claims is just a starting point and they'll move you but its a lie. There's a high turnover and the people who stay are numb and over worked.

      Pros

      Excellent people to work with from supervisory roles on down. Like many large companies, mid to high level management types are unapproachable and a bit of touch with field operations (they've gotten a little to cozy behind their desk).

      Cons

      Mid and upper level management are out of touch with those in day-to-day operations and in the field. From a claims' position, they are highly micro-managerial in a job that requires a certain amount of autonomy and personal discretion.
