Pros

-Great hands-on training program at company facility ( i.e.: Indy Hub) -Inside Reps were great helping out as long as you trained them right. -Customers were always eager to hear a sale going on. -Benefits were decent, not poor and not the best just middle of the road. Good 401k package and market share plan

Cons

-Below average base salary -Very little/no consequences for management discipline when other staff are picking up the slack and reportedly discussed issue with DM via phone, email, and face-to-face -Promised promotions and raises, but when approached for recorded sales growth was denied and told too important to move up and too much going on company wide for raise/bonus

Pros

Osp was an easy job, drive to customers. Shoot the moon and sell some crap they needed.

Cons

You put your heart and soul into selling, you make the best routes, document your sales, follow the guidlines and grow sales. Still when you leave for a better paying job and medical reasons cause you to try and come back to fastenal to rekindle what you left. Instead they give you the bird and tell you in a email that you arent qualified.

Pros

Overall company structure is Good. Outward appearance of openness by executive team is Great. Large company with numerous service capabilities and resources.

Cons

Upper Management's failure to actually connect with their "front-line" employees. Instead they leave this to their District Manager's, which the majority RULE-BY-INTIMIDATION !!!... Constantly threatening your job... although they say that they promote from within and that years of service are not a requirement for advancement, promotions are NOT based on what you know, instead they are based on WHO YOU KNOW !!! experienced employees sometimes with 5+ years of service, are passed up by a newly hired employee, simply because that new employee befriended the right people.
