Pros

Free printing especially if you are a student. Just don't get caught. If you are a TM, depending on your manager, you can break company policy left and right. About 50% of the locations in San Francisco are currently run that way.

Cons

Incompetent Sr. Management. Sr. Management think that they are running the districts and regions but it is actually underpaid employees who do that. Wage increases are a joke. You can get hired at 12 dollars and 5 yrs later you will be at 13.50.

Pros

Fedex Office can be a great place to work. If you are a hard worker, you can advance in the company quickly and go from making a measly salary to decent money. The benefits are good and the company tries very hard to work with its employees and help them when needed. Management varies, but in my experience most managers are fair and helpful. Time off is easily given and generally employees are not given a hard time when they ask for time off. Time off also accumulates and rolls over, and I have known some employees to have over a month of time off built up and they were able to take a nice, long vacation.

Cons

Since Fedex bought out Kinkos, they've struggled with understanding how the printing industry works. Changes are constant within Fedex Office as Fedex tries to find what "works" and what doesn't. This a lot of times causes confusion and frustration for employees. Many veteran Kinkos employees quit within the first few years of the Fedex buyout and along with them went their talent. Many employees now do not know enough about printing which sometimes leads to problems with customers orders and redos.. Customers get frustrated and employees become unhappy. New hires are not given enough training in how to use the printers and all the equipment within the stores. Also, due to Fedex losing money with the Fedex Office division, they are cutting back everywhere they can. Stores cannot buy enough supplies to keep up with demand and every store is short staffed. That can be very frustrating for the staff and they cannot complete orders sometimes for customers due to the lack of supplies and staff. That also leads to customer frustration and low employee morale.

Pros

When things are working well, the job is not very difficult. It can be a very busy place and it is somewhat rewarding to get things done well and on time.

Cons

When things are not working well the job is hell. Management at two branches I worked at was completely ineffectual and incompetent. Pay varied wildly and had little to do with skill.
