Pros

Very good company to work for. Great benefits for even part time package handlers. You can move up pretty quickly in the company if you want to but must be willing to move anywhere in the country.

Cons

You basically have to start as a package handler to get anywhere in the company. Then you can move into an admin position or a part time management position. Then after being a part time manager for a couple years you might get lucky and get a full time management position. It is hard to live on part time pay so you will have to supplement your pay with another part time job while waiting for a full time position. Hours are a bit strange for part timers and some full timers, midnight to 7 am for the preload and 5pm to 10pm for the outbound (depending on the station)

Pros

Advancement opportunity, pay is great, benefits, hours, I could go on. not every terminal is as great as the one I'm at. The one I was at before it challenge me and I hated it for a while. When I transferred terminal I shined there thanks to the challenges I encountered at my previous terminal.

Cons

Like most companies there is favoritism, and unfairness. A large lack of communication is probably the biggest hindrance. Generally the terminals are very large with 20 plus people working there. everyone needs to know what is going on in order to be successful.

Pros

Great hours for going to school during the day. Tuition reimbursement is annual at $3000. Health, vision and dental insurance is good for a student. Pay is good for the work and the hours. Overall, you work in a warehouse and your manager and team members make a huge difference in how enjoyable it can be; if you do not like your current crew just wait a few weeks and it will probably change.

Cons

limited growth, unless of course you want to be a manager or move to a different location. Almost all of the professional careers within fedex express are in memphis. Raises are not based on how hard you work or the quality of your work; they are based on how many times you were late over the past year. Many people use his job as a stepping stone. It is a great stepping stone because it is a solid job with great benefits (try to find more generous benefits for working part time).
