Pros

Benefits are decent. Outsiders are impressed by the name.

Cons

1) Poor leadership in place, except for Rebholz, who I believe has good intentions for this company and is trying to steer it in the right direction. He has an air of sincerity that others lack. But one man can't do it alone. They need to clean house of callous leaders and revamp HR so that they are less likely to follow their own agenda and really serve the needs of the internal customer. Put HUMAN back in human resources. 2) Everyone throws eachother under the bus. Not enough teamwork because everyone is too busy Covering their own hides. 3) Each department is working on their own initiative and not so much because it makes sense but because they want to be visible, earn awards, and look busy. 4) Everyone is a number, unless you are MD and above (they are the only ones with photos on the internal site). How about making ALL employees feel valued. Put a face to their name so we are a warmer company. Maybe when we start to recognize eachother in the hub we break down barriers of communication and start to collaborate in the way FedEx wishes we would. 5) Forget about having fun and be prepared to kiss lots of rear ends. That's the way to get to the top.

Pros

Very employee friendly. You will get to work with a very smart, highly efficient set of co-workers without a cut-throat environment.

Cons

Since most people dont leave FedEx after joining, promotions become more difficult. Although the company has a policy for promoting from within, it is highly competitive and almost like an internal job application rather than an automatic promotion based on superior performance. Due to this, your "interviewing skills" and ability to "sell yourself" become as important, if not more, than the job skills necessary to suceed in the new position. Not a bad thing necessarily.
