Pros
If you did your work and the boss did not hear of any problems or complaints, you were fine. Salaries for my line of work were above industry norms.
Cons
Having to deal with the compartmented departments. Groups that needed to work together and communicate did not have a direct channel between them and were under different management organizations. Groups making decisions that affected others and not telling them or saying-well it's your problem now.
