Cons
Very limited training but no shortage of corporate classes that have no direct involvement in my day to day job duties. Culture is very much “figure it out” with claim handling and complicated computer programs. Hard and complicated tasks daily. Inspections are often dangerous and in the elements with very little regard to safety. The most blue collar -white collar job I’ve had. If you do everything right you can look forward to a 3% raise each year making it nearly impossible to stay ahead of inflation. Zero cost of living raises, every raise is merit based. I made almost 3x my raise with my yearly bonus that had no bearing on employee performance and is taxed nearly in half. Not diverse at all.
