Flexible schedule, good benefits, work life balance, opportunities for advancement, good bonus program.

Cons

No opportunity to work from home - job could be done remotely or at least a hybrid schedule but Federated is big on the culture of the office.

Pros

Family company. Great benefits and people. Their culture is like no other. I enjoy going to the seminars. You learn so much about the company and best practices for the desk. Everyone is willing to help you, you just have to ask. My supervisors goal is to develop their direct reports.

Cons

The ability to work from home. I think if Federated offered 1 day a week, our culture would still be there. I’m not even sure i would work 1 day a week from home; but having the option is always nice. Otherwise, no complaints.

Federated has a positive culture. I did not experience any of the one size fits all approach or snarky cc/bcc people on e-mails or "nasty grams" that I have with other companies. Everyone has an open door and is there for your development and growth and they invest in your training. The pension is a huge benefit, their medical coverage is well priced and provides good coverage. If you manage your work and do your work it is a 40 hour a week M-F job. They do a good job with employee engagement. Managers are friendly and helpful. Salaries are fair. People are promoted fairly. HR is consistent, knowledgeable and fair (and they actually read engagement survey feedback). Annual bonus is a +

"Vision" insurance should include yearly exams, but if you do not have medical/vision it does not. They'll hate me for saying this and I get it is a culture driver...but go hybrid. Try a 1 day a week work from home. You won't lose your culture over 1 day it would be a good faith effort. Seminars/Trainings in Owatonna in winter =p
