Pros

Job Stability & decent pay

Cons

Low visibility in company happenings/decisions, tough upward mobility, churn and burn with salespeople. Very low work-life balance with many senior employees commenting on how they used to work 70 hours a week. Finally, the company moved to 45 hours a week last year but still, many employees find themselves averaging 50 hours or more to complete their work. The company overall is a grind which I don't mind but with the lack of upward mobility and visibility with how you can grow your career it just doesn't make sense to devote so much time to a company that does not invest in their employees. Another thing to note is the lack of training, many colleagues of mine struggled to learn and adapt to the demands placed on them in their initial roles. It's common knowledge within the organization that many senior employees hoard knowledge to keep themselves relevant or at least that was my general understanding from the information given to me and what I had witnessed personally. Tools used to complete sales transactions and maintain your pipeline are ancient and developed in the '90s. The company also has a good ol' boys mentality that may have just been in the locations I worked at but seemed prevalent elsewhere in conversations with other branch employees. If you're young looking for a challenge where you can cut your teeth it may be a good organization to climb on board with for a year or two at the most. I know first hand there are inside sales associates still grinding 5 years and more to make the jump to the next role but difficult if unwilling to move vast distances or unwilling to wait for others to retire. If you're older looking for a solid paycheck and ok working in sales or possibly in the warehouse the benefits can be worthwhile. If you work in the warehouse prepare to work hard. In summary, the company is failing to adapt to the changing work environment and overall not a great place to begin a career if you want to have relevant experience in sales.

Pros

The SPC in Raleigh is an amazing place to work in my opinion. No political drama, realistic expectations and empower employees(no micromanagement) attitude. Health insurance premiums are based on incomes. You can get the standard plan for less than $300 a month for you whole family.

Cons

Fast paced, must be able to handle multi-tasking
