Pros

Ferguson as an organization is respected in the industry. They have a highly developed distribution system.

Cons

Advancement is based not necessarily on your skill level or your hard work. It is based on the good ole boy network and who you will suck up to. Perks are few unless you are part of the club, being part of the club rewards you with sport outings, golf, dinners, trips etc. I would not consider their employment practices and promotions as diverse. This is a male dominated environment.

Pros

Pay. Pay pay pay. Compare this training program with some of the other large post grad programs (i.e. Enterprise Rent A Car) the biggest difference comes every two weeks in a nice little envelope. The Compensation is phenomenally high compared to most entry level positions. Lots of opportunity for advancement, in relatively short timeframes. (As with most training programs) Very relaxed work atmosphere.

Cons

The hours. Especially when you are in the first phase of training and stuck in the warehouse picking orders and loading trucks. You're expected to be there by 8am and sometimes don't leave until well after 9. I averaged around 57 hours a week during my time in the warehouse.
