Pros

Good social place to meet people, relaxed work area and free Friday afternoon cheese and wine party. People are nice in general.

Cons

Not enough pay, software development is mostly in maintainence phase so primarily just reworking existing code. Fermilab funding in the future cloudy

Pros

Focused, challenging, intense environment, where you work on problems at the forefront of basic physics research. Many extremely intelligent, driven people to work and talk with. Wilson hall is a nice environment. Lots of travel support. Constant drive to pursue the best research program.

Cons

The average age of the staff is getting old. Too much bureaucracy, which seems to drive many decisions and the spirit of the lab. Crisis of faith in the future existence of the lab.

Pros

A lot of resources for new equipment. Nice place to gain experience in large environment, without a lot of pressure. 8-5, overtime is uncommon.

Cons

Not much interaction between departments outside of meetings. Not a place to social. Mostly runs by retiring age people, from Physics background, without corporate experience.
